FIGHTING FOR EDUCATION

My mission is simple: provide students and educators with the critical support necessary for success.

Leadership and Accountability

The Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights found Park City School District failed to protect students. The issues are ongoing and demand decisive action by the Park City School Board.

I will:

  • take ownership of the findings in the Office of Civil Rights’ report.

  • demonstrate strong leadership and engage community partners and resources to improve the environment in our schools and district office.

  • work to implement a culture of clear expectations and accountability.

  • lead and communicate.

Transparency

Trust in the Park City School Board can only be restored through transparency, accessibility, and timely, accurate communication.

I will:

  • take ownership of mistakes and convey corrective action plans.

  • be available to all residents who have questions or concerns.

  • ensure the school district communicates clearly and honestly to students, parents, teachers, administrators, and stakeholders.

  • work to earn trust from community.

Fiscal Responsibility

Responsible use of tax dollars is critical for educational success. Recent mismanagement, notably construction and soil removal execution, has cost Park City taxpayers time and money.

I will:

  • bring stricter fiscal oversight and transparent project tracking.

  • work to foster healthy partnerships with government agencies.

Support for our Educators and Students

Our current school leaders have spent too much time addressing self-inflicted errors and not focusing on day-to-day needs of teachers and students. One such utter failure of leadership is the Office of Civil Rights findings highlighting a lack of legally required training and reporting of harassment, which has seriously harmed too many families.

I will:

  • immediately give highest priority to legally required training and record keeping.

  • keep the focus on the needs and wellbeing of educators and students.

  • help build a culture of trust and respect between employees and the district office.
