Leadership and Accountability
Given the Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights' disturbing findings and ongoing challenges in our schools, it's imperative that the Park City School Board acts decisively. We must foster a safe, respectful environment for all students. My experience in leadership equips me to address these issues effectively as a board member, ensuring we meet the highest standards of conduct and respect.
Transparency
Trust in the Park City School Board can only be restored through transparency, accessibility, and timely communication. Poor handling of in school harassment, COVID protocols, construction projects, and other district decisions has eroded community trust. As your District 3 representative, I am committed to open, honest communication with educators, families, and students to rebuild and sustain this trust.
Increasing Fiscal Responsibility
Responsible use of tax dollars is critical for educational success. Recent mismanagement, notably construction and soil removal errors and delays cost the district time and money, thereby redirecting essential funds away from education. I will ensure strict fiscal oversight and corrective action to prevent future missteps, guaranteeing that our tax dollars are used to enhance educational quality.
Supporting Our Educators
Instead of covering up errors and engaging in costly legal battles, our focus must be on supporting our educators and students. Current mismanagement has diverted necessary resources from our classrooms. As a School Board member, I will focus on removing these obstacles, providing our educators with the resources they need to promote student success.
